MEDITASI MENINGKATKAN REGULASI EMOSI PADA REMAJA
Abstract
Pada masa remaja, individu mengalami perubahan emosi. Emosi remaja yang cenderung meledak-ledak dan sulit dikendalikan apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah bagi remaja dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Untuk itu, remaja membutuhkan kemampuan regulasi emosi. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan untuk melatih regulasi emosi adalah meditasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah meditasi meningkatkan regulasi emosi pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian NonEquivalent Group Design. Meditasi yang digunakan adalah meditasi Bali Usada yang terdiri dari meditasi teknik mindfulness dan loving kindness. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja berusia 15 sampai dengan 18 tahun atau siswa SMA atau SMK di Denpasar yang diperoleh dengan melakukan two stages cluster sampling. Subjek dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang terdiri dari 32 orang dan kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari 31 orang. Kedua kelompok diberikan pre-test berupa skala regulasi emosi. Kemudian, kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan berupa pelatihan meditasi selama sebulan, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan pelatihan. Setelah itu, kedua kelompok diberi post-test berupa skala regulasi emosi.Hasil uji hipotesis dengan Paired Sample ttest menunjukkan nilai signifikansi selisih pre-test dan post-test pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 0.000yang kurang dari 0.05 (p<0.05) dan nilai signifikansi selisih pre-test dan post-test pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 0.388 yang lebih dari 0.05 (p>0.05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa meditasi dapat meningkatkan regulasi emosi pada remaja.
