PENINGKATAN KESIAPSIAGAAN MENOLONG KORBAN KEGAWATDARURATAN WISATA PADA PEDAGANG PESISIR PANTAI DENGAN EDUKASI WATER RESCUE DI KABUPATEN BADUNG

Abstrak

The increasing number of tourists visiting Bali for beach trips not only have a positive impact but also be a special concern for the emergency incidences. The number of emergency cases in tourists is influenced by the first aid of the closest person/bystander, one of which is the role of beach vendors. Beach vendors stated that they are rarely exposed to health education to improve their preparedness and when viewed from their busy schedule, beach vendors will prioritize trading rather than improving their competence in helping. To overcome this, the method chosen was to make audio-visual media in the form of Water Rescue videos. The purpose of this study was to analyze the preparedness of beach vendors to help victims of beach tourism emergencies in Badung Regency. This study is quantitative research with the pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest method and was conducted at eight beach locations in Badung Regency. Selection of respondents using purposive sampling technique with a total of 103 respondents. Data collection with a questionnaire to assess preparedness before and after giving Water Rescue videos. The results of the analysis with the t-Test test stated that there was a significant difference in the preparedness of beach vendors before and after being given the Water Rescue video with Sig. 0,000 (p<0,05). Education through the provision of audio-visual media can be said to be effective for improving the preparedness of beach vendor groups because the media is made with real settings and real time, and combines with local cultural approaches with the use of language that is appropriate for respondents. In addition, a special location is needed to scan barcodes for emergency handling at the beach/water location and regular training to strengthen the psychomotor abilities of traders around the beach/water tourist sites.
