Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process Jurnal Magister Hukum Udayana
JMHU maintains the standards of double blind-peer reviews while increasing the efficiency of the process. All research articles published in JMHU undergo full peer review, key characteristics of which are listed below:
- The Peer-Review Process in this journal begins with a review related to the accuracy of fulfilling the requirements of the Author Guidelines or article writing guidelines and a review of the journal template by the Board of Editors or Editorial Board both internally and externally. Editors who have a track record are tasked with carefully checking and ensuring that the article being reviewed meets the Author Guidelines and Journal Template.
- The next stage is that the editor is tasked with providing the assessment results by filling out the assessment results form / assessment form.
- The next process, the editor team is then tasked with returning the article according to the results of the review by the Board of Editors when the article still does not meet the Author Guidelines or Journal Template for revision by the author.
It is also possible that the Editor may decide that your manuscript does not meet the journal criteria or scope and that it should not be considered further. In this case, the Editor will immediately notify you that the manuscript has been rejected and may recommend a more suitable journal.
-
Editors of JMHU will decide promptly whether to accept, reject, or request revisions of referred papers based on the reviews and editorial insight of the supporting journals. Also, Editors will have the option of seeking additional reviews when needed. The authors will be advised when Editors decide, further review is required. Submitted articles will be first review by the editor for the topic and writing style according to the guidelines. All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer-review, both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process to meet standards of academic excellence. In short, the steps are:
- Manuscript Submission by Author, including the similarity results (a Turnitin similarity score of 20%)
- Manuscript checks and selection by managers and editors;
- Editors have a right to directly accept, reject, or review.
- Manuscript Reviewing Process (by reviewers)
- Notification of Manuscript Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection (by editor to Author based on reviewer’s comments).
- Revision by Author;
- Revision Submission based on Reviewer Suggestion (by Author)
- If the revision meets all the criteria, notification for acceptance will be sent by the Editor;
- Copyediting and publish.
The following are the most common decisions:
- Accepted, as it is. The journal will publish the paper in its original form;
- Accepted with minor revisions, the journal will publish the paper and asks the Author to make small corrections;
- Accepted with major revisions, the journal will publish the paper provided the authors make the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors;
- Resubmit (conditional rejection), the journal is willing to reconsider the paper in another round of decision making after the authors make major changes;
- Rejected (outright rejection), JMHU will not publish the paper or reconsider it even if the authors make the major revisions.
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed. JMHU uses Turnitin to screen articles for detecting plagiarism. Detection of overlapping and similar text is used there and so quotations and appropriate citations have to be used whenever required.
