Sistim pendingin evaporative merupakan sistim pendingin yang hemat energy dan ramah lingkungan yang menggunakan air dan udara sebagai sumber daya alami penggerak sistim. Sistim indirect evaporative cooling adalah salah satu jenis pendingin evaporative, yang mendinginkan udara tanpa menambah kandungan uap air udara, karena tidak ada kontak langsung antara udara dan air. Dalam penelitian ini akan dikembangkan sistim indirect evaporative cooling yang berbasis solid dry pad. Solid dry pad merupakan barisan pipa-pipa yang disusun sejajar dan berisikan es kering (dry ice) dengan variasi prosentase volume pengisian dry ice 50%, 75% dan 100%. Pengujian dilakukan dengan ketiga variasi volume solid dry pad tersebut pada kecepatan aliran udara konstan 9.5 m/s, dengan lama pengujian selama 60 menit, dengan rentang waktu pengambilan data setiap 5 menit. Dari hasil pengujian didapat bahwa sistim indirect evaporative cooling berbasis solid dry pad ini mampu secara signifikan memberikan efek pendinginan dan dehumidifikasi pada udara. Tingkat pendinginan dan dehumidifikasi yang dihasilkan bervariasi berdasarkan prosentase volume pengisian solid dry pad , dimana didapat selisih penurunan temperature bola kering sebesar masing-masing 2.6oC, 2.9oC dan 4.0oC serta selisih kelembaban relative udara masing-masing 8.1%, 8.6% dan 10.3% secara berurutan untuk variasi prosentase volume pengisian solid dry pad 50% (320 cm3), 75% (480 cm3) dan 100% (640 cm3). Dapat disimpulkan disini bahwa selisih penurunan temperature bola kering tertinggi sebesar 4oC dan selisih kelembaban relative tertinggi sebesar 10.3% dicapai pada prosentase volume pengisian solid dry pad 100%, sebagai akibat semakin rendahnya temperature dan meningkatnya luasan pendinginan pada permukaan pipa solid dry pad.

Abstract
An evaporative cooling system is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly cooling system that uses water and air as the natural resources driving the system. The indirect evaporative cooling system is one type of evaporative cooling, which cools the air without adding air moisture content, because there is no direct contact between air and water. In this study an indirect evaporative cooling system will be developed based on a solid dry pad. Solid dry pad is a line of pipes arranged in parallel and containing dry ice (dry ice) with variations in the percentage of dry ice filling volume of 50%, 75% and 100%. The test was carried out with the three variations of the volume of the solid dry pad at a constant air flow rate of 9.5 m / s, with a length of testing for 60 minutes, with a data collection time span every 5 minutes. From the test results it was found that the indirect evaporative cooling system based on solid dry pad was able to significantly provide a cooling and dehumidification effect on the air. The resulting cooling and dehumidification levels vary based on the percentage of the volume of the solid dry pad filling, where the difference in temperature of the dry ball is decreased by 2.6oC, 2.9oC and 4.0oC as well as the relative humidity difference of the air respectively 8.1%, 8.6% and 10.3% sequentially for variations in the volume of filling of solid dry pad 50% (320 cm3), 75% (480 cm3) and 100% (640 cm3). It can be concluded here that the difference in the highest dry ball temperature reduction by 4oC and the highest relative humidity difference of 10.3% is achieved at the percentage of the 100% solid dry pad filling volume, as a result of lower temperature and increased cooling area on the surface of the solid dry pad pipe.
