PENGARUH PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN DENGAN MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL TERHADAP SELF-EFFICACY ORANGTUA DALAM PENANGANAN CHOKING PADA ANAK DI RA DARUL HUDA
Abstrak
Choking is an emergency condition that can happen to anyone, especially children, therefore immediate first aid is needed because it can be life-threatening. The factors that can support parents’ actions in providing first aid for choking is self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in their ability to carry out a series of actions, so it is important to increase parents' self-efficacy in handling choking by providing health education. The media that can be used during counseling is audiovisual media. This media has the advantage that it can provide good visualization and can be played repeatedly. The objective of this study is to assess the impact of delivering health education using audiovisual media on parents' self-confidence in managing incidents of choking in children at RA Darul Huda. The research conducted is of a quantitative nature, employing a quasi-experimental research design known as a one-group pre-test, post-test design. The study involved a total of 33 respondents. The sample technique employed is a purposive sampling strategy that adheres to the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. Health education is delivered through the use of audiovisual medium. The data analysis revealed that the average self-efficacy of parents was 72.73 before receiving health education, and increased to 77.00 after receiving health education. The bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test revealed a p-value of 0.00 (?<0.05), indicating a substantial impact of health education utilizing audiovisual medium on parents' self-efficacy in managing choking incidents in children. From this research, it is hoped that it can increase parents' self-efficacy in handling choking in children and parents can apply it in emergency situations at school and at home.
