Jurnal Nawala Politika (JNP) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. We prioritize originality in scholarly work and strictly prohibit plagiarism and other forms of ethical misconduct.
Author Requirements
As part of our commitment to upholding academic integrity, Nawala Politika mandates that all authors submitting manuscripts to the journal include:
1. Statement of Originality
A signed document serving as a formal declaration that the submitted work is entirely the author's own, original, unpublished, not a translation of previously published material, and not under consideration by any other publisher or publication platform.
2. Turnitin Similarity Report
A report generated by Turnitin's plagiarism detection software, providing an objective assessment of the manuscript's originality by identifying any textual similarities with existing published works.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as the act of presenting someone else's work—whether it be data, text, ideas, or graphical content—as one's own without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes:
- Reproducing more than two consecutive sentences (or their equivalent) from another source without proper citation
- Using graphical content, images, or other materials from external sources without permission
- Failing to provide appropriate attribution for ideas, theories, or data derived from other works
Submission Requirements
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Nawala Politika (JNP) must be:
- Original and unpublished
- Not a translation of previously published work
- Not under consideration by any other publisher
Plagiarism Screening Process
We employ Turnitin to evaluate the originality of all submitted manuscripts. Based on the similarity index, the editorial team will take the following actions:
Similarity Index Above 30%
- Immediate rejection due to significant plagiarism
- No resubmission accepted
Similarity Index Between 20% and 30%
- Manuscript returned for substantial revision
- Authors must improve citations and paraphrasing
- Resubmission with new Turnitin report (<20%) required
Similarity Index Below 20%
- Generally accepted for further review
- Minor revisions may be required
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Jurnal Nawala Politika (JNP) maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward plagiarism. Any instance of ethical misconduct will be addressed promptly to protect the integrity of the journal and the academic community.
