Editorial Policies
Overview
Jurnal Nawala Politika (JNP) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal adheres to the guidelines set by:
- Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
- International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
ensuring integrity, transparency, and accountability in the publication process.
Authorship
An author is defined as an individual who has made significant contributions to a manuscript. JNP follows ICMJE's four criteria for authorship:
- Substantial contributions to the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the work
- Drafting or revising the manuscript for important intellectual content
- Final approval of the version to be published
- Accountability for all aspects of the work
All listed authors must meet these criteria and approve the final manuscript before submission.
Acknowledgement
Individuals or organizations who contributed to the manuscript but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the manuscript.
Changes in Authorship
Requests to change authorship must follow COPE guidelines and:
- Be made by the corresponding author
- Use the journal's Change of Authorship Form
- Be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief
Submission of Manuscripts
Authors must adhere to the journal's Instructions for Authors. Manuscripts should:
- Follow the journal's style and specifications
- Include contributions of all listed authors
- Be approved by all authors prior to submission
- Provide complete contact information
- Disclose any conflicts of interest
Note: Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts after submission. Withdrawal requests after publication phase begins will be treated as retractions.
Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when private interests could influence professional responsibilities.
Authors
Must disclose any financial or relevant interests that may influence the manuscript.
Reviewers/Editors
Must disclose conflicts and recuse themselves if necessary.
Confidentiality & Misconduct
Submitted manuscripts are confidential documents. JNP follows COPE guidelines for handling suspected misconduct including:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication
- Redundant publication
- Unethical research practices
Correction Policy
Corrections may be made for:
- Minor inaccuracies or unintentional mistakes
- Errors in author list
The Editor-in-Chief determines if correction is warranted.
Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted if:
- Findings are unreliable
- Duplicate publication exists
- Plagiarism is found
- Unethical practices occurred
