Terbit cetak pertama kali sejak tahun 1994. Akreditasi terakhir tahun 2007: No. Akreditasi : 167/DIKTI/Kep/2007.

The linguistic journal as a vehicle for the development of the linguistic horizon is published by the Linguistics Master Program (S2) Linguistics and Doctoral Program of Udayana University Graduate Program. The publication of this journal in 1994, led by the Chairman and Secretary of Master Program (S2) and S3 Postgraduate Program of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Bawa and Prof. Dr. Aron Meko Mbete. In its development, there are various changes in linguistic journals, such as cover colors, style selingkung, and the number of articles published.

Changes that occur for Linguistics Journal present with face up to date and in accordance with accreditation rules of journal issued by Higher Education. Since 2011, the publication of this journal is no longer working with the Indonesian Linguistic Society (MLI), but in collaboration with the Local Language Research Association (APBL). Nevertheless, this journal still comes with linguistic information, both micro-journalism, macrolinguistics, and applied linguistics.

The presence of the Linguistic Journal is expected to be accepted by readers. In addition, it is also expected that journal information can provide incessant linguistic enrichment.
