Abstrak

Sudden changes in post partum mothers can include emotional disappointment, pain during the early postpartum period, fatigue due to lack of sleep during labor and anxiety about her ability to care for her baby, as well as fear of no longer being attractive to her husband. In this condition, post partum mothers need sufficient information and need people who are able to accept their complaints and help solve the problem. Therapeutic communication is consciously planned communication, where the activities are focused on the patient's recovery. Nurses who have communication skills not only easily establish relationships of trust with patients, but also prevent illegal problems from occurring, provide satisfaction in nursing services and improve the image of the nursing profession and the image of the hospital. The aim of this research is to analyze strategies for implementing therapeutic communication in increasing service satisfaction for postpartum inpatients at RSIA Aisyiyah Klaten. The research design uses mixed methods, (a combination of quantitative and qualitative).  The sampling technique used accidental sampling and a total of 30 samples were obtained. The data analysis technique uses Spearman Rank. The results of the univariate analysis of the study showed that the mean age of the respondents was 29,63 ± 5,39, the majority had a high school education (60%), with a non-working status of 73,3%, the majority were multiparous 66,7% and the birth method was caesarean section 53,3%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the implementation of therapeutic communication was 83,3% good, and the majority of satisfaction with nursing services was 86,6% good with a p-value of 0,354. So it can be concluded that there is no relationship between therapeutic communication and satisfaction with nursing services.
