Abstrak


Penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat mekanis dalam sambungan Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 – Baja Karbon ST 37 dengan diameter Spot Welding Electrode Taper 4 mm dan 5 mm dan mengetahui diameter Spot Welding Electrode Taper yang sesuai pada sambungan Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 – Baja Karbon ST 37. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 metode pengujian dalam mengetahui sifat mekanis dalam sambungan Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 – Baja Karbon ST 37 dengan diameter diameter Spot Welding Electrode Taper 4 mm dan 5 mm, yaitu uji tarik untuk logam induk (Base Metal), uji geser dan uji kekerasan Vickers pada sambungan las (Weld Joint). Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, penelitian ini mendapatkan diameter spot welding electrode taper yang tepat pada sambungan Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 – Baja Karbon ST 37 yaitu diameter Spot Welding Electrode Taper 5 mm dilihat dari data pengujian uji geser mendapatkan rata-rata Regangan 3,619 – Tegangan Geser Maksimum 58,64 MPa. Pada uji kekerasan vickers mendapatkan HVN ratarata daerah las 334,926. Kata kunci: Spot Welding, Dissimilar, Tarik, Geser, Kekerasan


Abstract


This study aims to determine the mechanical properties of Dissimilar joints, Stainless Steel 304 - ST 37 Carbon Steel with 4 mm and 5 mm Spot Welding Electrode Taper and find out the diameter of Spot Welding Electrode Taper that is suitable for Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 - ST 37 Carbon Steel joints. This study uses 3 testing methods in knowing the mechanical properties in the Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 - Carbon Steel ST 37 connection Spot Welding Electrode Taper 4 mm and 5 mm, namely the tensile test for base metal, shear test and Vickers hardness test on welding joint (weld joint). Based on the data obtained, this study obtained the exact spot welding electrode taper size at 304 Dissimilar Stainless Steel 304 - Carbon Steel ST 37 connections namely 5 mm Spot Welding Electrode Taper seen from the shear test test data to get 3,619 strain - maximum shear stress of 58,64 MPa. In the hardness test the vickers get an average HVN of the welding area of 334,926 Keywords: spot welding, dissimilar, tensile, shear, hardness
