The Public Space Management Strategy at the Bali Arts Centre during the Annual Bali Arts Festival

Abstrak

Pesta Kesenian Bali, sering disebut sebagai PKB adalah festival budaya dan acara seni tahunan terkemuka yang diselenggarakan di Pulau Bali, Indonesia. Festival ini biasanya diadakan selama beberapa minggu dengan berbagai acara dan pertunjukan berlangsung di Taman Budaya (Art Center) di Denpasar. Penelitian ini mencoba menganalisis strategi pemanfaatan ruang publik dalam penyelenggaraan Pesta Kesenian Bali Juli 2023. PKB menggunakan ruang publik yang mewadahi keberagaman aktivitas, budaya, dan masyarakat. Mereka mendorong interaksi antarkelompok yang berbeda, menumbuhkan rasa toleransi dan pengertian. Fokus penelitian ini adalah Taman Budaya Art Center di Denpasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ruang publik menurut teori ruang publik Gottdiener dan Lefebvre, khususnya mengenai keterbukaan ruang publik yang dapat diakses oleh seluruh warga negara tanpa diskriminasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi ruang publik pada masa PKB memberikan peluang promosi budaya lokal Bali kepada masyarakat pada umumnya dan pewarisan budaya kepada generasi muda.
