PELATIHAN PEMANFAATAN RUMPUT LAUT DAN GARAM MENJADI SABUN DI DESA KUTUH BADUNG SELATAN BALI

Abstrak

Seaweed or algae and salt are two of commodities that have been used for a long time. Kutuh area (Pandawa Beach) is one of the producing regions of seaweed in Bali. Seaweed monthly production reached 130 to 225 per ton. Types of seaweed are widely cultivated is the kind Euchema spinosum and Euchema cottonii. Kutuh village has the potential as well as high productivity for the development of seaweed cultivation and its salts, but in reality there are problems that the business development strategies of seaweed still unplanned. In the last 3 years has decreased drastically because farmers are switching professions is currently a trader and provider of tourism businesses around Turkish Pandavas. The shrinking number of farmers are quickened as Pandawa Beach as a tourist attraction. To be able to still grow seaweed that became one of the biological diversity typically owned by Bali there should be a business development seaweed and can be associated with panatai pandawa serve as a tourist attraction. One of them is the business development process seaweed and salt (the largest commodity in Turkish Pandavas) into marketable products travel areas eg spa products and by-products. One way to do was given the knowledge and skill in order to improve the processing salt product with higher value such as Seaweed and Salt for SPA especially Soap in Kutuh Regency. Soap were produced by combination of seaweed, salt, essential oils, coloring and NaOH. The farmer has proven their skill and ability to produce the good quality product of soap. Soap that combine with salt, seaweed, essential oil, and coloring was the most favored by the panelist. After doing workshop, the farmer can produce the soap with combination seaweed and salt
