Abstract

ABSTRACT

One of the many occupational diseases in the form of muscle complaints caused by non-ergonomic conditions is Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD). This study aims to determine the relationship between work posture and workload on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in cleaning service workers at the Sudirman Campus, Udayana University. Risk factors such as individual factors, occupational factors, and environmental factors can cause MSDs. This research is a quantitative analytic observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with a total of 71 respondents. This research was conducted at the Sudirman Campus of Udayana University from April to May 2023. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and the chi-square test. The results showed that as many as 83.10% of cleaning service workers experienced MSDs in the high-risk category. Variables that are significantly related to MSDs are work posture (p-value 0.000) and workload (p-value 0.001). Prevention of high-risk MSDs can be done by providing training related to work postures and doing regular sports such as jogging and stretching to flex muscles.
