Peningkatan Sifat Mekanik Hybrid Ceramik Komposit dengan Penambahan Partikel Magnesium dan Serat Silica Carbon
Abstract
Pada penelitian ini Aluminium powder digunakan sebagai matriks dan Silicon Carbon whisker (SiCw) serta Alumina partikel (Al2O3p) digunakan sebagai penguat. Pembuatan material uji dengan proses metalurgi powder pada variasi gaya tekan 15, 20 dan 25 kN, temperatur sintering 350oC, waktu penahanan 15 menit pada masing-masing specimen uji. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi densitas, porositas dan kekerasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan komposisi SiCw dan aditif Alumina pada persen berat berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap sifat fisik dan mekanik komposit. Dimana peningkatan densitas dan kekerasan terjadi karena semakin kuat atau semakin rapatnya ikatan antarmuka matrik dan penguat, sedangkan porositas menurun berbanding terbalik dengan densitas yang terjadi dalam material hybrid keramik matrik komposit.
In this study, Aluminum powder was used as a matrix, and Silicon Carbon whisker (SiCw) and Alumina particle additives (Al2O3p) were used as reinforcement. Manufacture of test material with powder metallurgy process with variations in the compressive force of 15, 20, and 25 kN, sintering temperature of 350oC, and holding time of 15 minutes for each test specimen. Tests carried out include density, porosity, and hardness. The results showed that the addition of SiCw composition and Alumina additives in weight percent had an effect on the physical and mechanical properties of the composite. There was an increase in density and hardness due to the stronger or tighter interfacial bonds between the matrix and reinforcement, while porosity decreased inversely with the density that occurred in the hybrid material. composite matrix ceramics.
