PELATIHAN PENGADAAN DAN PENGAWETAN BAHAN PRAKTIKUM BIOLOGI UNTUK GURU SMP BIDANG IPA DI KECAMATAN KUBUTAMBAHAN KABUPATEN BULELENG
Abstrak
The unvailibility of proper biological specimens often becomes limitations of teaching, especially regarding the topic of animal anatomy. Aside from associated with high cost, teachers are of limited knowledge on how to procure low-cost and efficient specimens. This community service aimed to provide proper training for junior high school teachers of Kubutambahan Sub-distric, Buleleng Regency, on how to perform animal dissection (mammals) as well as making herbariums and insectariums by themselves, so that those specimens could always be readily available at school laboratories. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method was used by means of lectures, direct hands-on sessions, and followed by evaluation. This training was centered at SMPN 1 Kubutambahan Junior High School and was attended by 28 science teachers from 7 government junior high schools in Kubutambahan Sub-district. At the end of this community service, participants were able to make herbariums, insectariums, and wet specimen of mammals (male and female mice).
