Abstrak

Lontar as one of the manuscripts (ancient manuscripts) which is a cultural heritage of ancestors who have uniqueness in record mode and transfer of traditional knowledge carried out through writing in Lontar media. But the slow time of the lontar makes the script manuscript very vulnerable because of various causes. The damage has an impact on the improvement of information contained on Lontar, then the media is carried out to digital. If the various types of scripts are digitized, what will be proof of the authenticity that this Lontar script is His ownership? Moreover, this digitalization can also be used to develop access to triplets and general public towards its knowledge. From these problems in this study were conducted to build a desktop-based application that implements steganography by hiding confidential messages into the PNG extension by utilizing the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method as a means of protecting the copyright in the Bali Lontar Manuscript.
