Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Scope

Veterinary Science and Medicine Journal publishes  scientific articles twice a year, and is managed by Magister Program of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, and only accepts English-language manuscripts on all aspects of veterinary medicine and animal sciences.

Manuscript Types Accepted

Original Article

The length of paper should be 10-15 pages. The paper should be original research papers. Manuscripts written on the subjects of basic sciences and clinical sciences on all related to veterinary medicine and animal sciences  have priority for publication in the journal.

Short Communications

The Short Communication is suitable for new models, innovative methods and techniques. It is similar to original research papers, but with limited data. It should be sent a maximum of 2 to 4 pages in length.

 

Reviews

Review can be made by authors in the current topics and intensive areas. It must be within 15 pages length with no more than 60 references (Reviews) / 30 references (Mini-reviews). All reviews should contain an introduction section and a conclusion section, with relevant section headings in between. The introduction should explain the importance of the subject, the text should be comprehensive and detaile

 

Case reports

Interesting/extremely rare cases or rare presentations can be reported. Cases with clinical significance or implications will be given priority. It should be 3 - 4 pages in length. Should contain Introduction, Case history, and Results and discussion sections. The introduction should indicate the interest of the case for practitioners, the case history should describe the case and the procedures in detail, and the results and discussion section should outline the results with a pertinent discussion.
Submission Procedure

Authors interested in submitting a paper are requested to send their manuscript for review to the Editor-in-Chief. It is recommended to submit manuscript in Ms word format and a paper of the author's assurance as guaranty that the draft has not been published and has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere through the email: jikhfkh@gmail.com.  Submission should include the email and regular address of the corresponding.

 

Style for Manuscript

All papers must be written in clear, concise and should follow the format. Manuscripts should be double-spaced with 4 cm margins on left and above sides of the page and 3 cm on right and below side of the page  in Times New Roman font.

The text of the paper should include Title and author/s, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (if any), references.

 

Title and authors

The title should describe the contents fully and shall be as short as possible without the use of abbreviations. Please include full name(s) (do not use initials), position, department, name of institution, email address for all authors.

Abstract

An abstract of no more than 200 words contains full information regarding the results of the study.

Keywords

No more than 6 key words for a manuscript.

Introduction

Introduction must be brief  and concise. Author(s) should state the background of the study, the aims of the research work, and the hypothesis (if any) and should include recent references concerning the topic.

Materials and methods

Materials and methods must include study design, methods adopted/used along with references and statistical information. It must be enough to allow experiments to be reproduced. Any previously published research work can also be cited and notification should be mentioned clearly. Subheadings should be used.

Results and discussion

Results

Results of research articles or manuscripts should be present with clarity. Results should include a concise, logical presentation of raw data. Results should be explained highlighting the significant observations. Statistical significance must be indicated.

Discussion

The discussion part of the research paper includes the significance of the results related to study, comparative analysis with similar or related works along with proper citation. Results and discussion may be combined and given as a single section.

Figures

Figures and graphs should be black and white, or in colour, embedded in word file, and numbered sequentially; they must be placed at the end of the article, rather than interspersed in text. Prepare all figures, especially line diagrams, to the highest possible standards.

Tables

Tables are to be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order of their citation in the text and included in the main document at the end of the text following the references section. Tables should be submitted as MS-word, not as PDF or embedded image or any other forms.

Acknowledgments

This section should be thanks to people, granting body, university departments, and college departments, and should be in a brief manner.

References

References should be used to cite relevant published work. In the text refer to the author's name (without initial) and year of publication. If reference is made in the text to a publication written by more than two authors the name of the first author should be used followed by "et al.". Use the Harvard (name and date) short reference system for citations in the text with a detailed alphabetical list at the end of the paper.

Fees and Charges

After Acceptance authors have to pay the processing handling charges. Authors are required to pay processing charges (For Indonesian Authors: Rp.500.000; For Foreign Authors: 70 US$).
