Abstract

ABSTRACT: The study about the effect of addition of ZnO, H2O2 and Fe2+ on photodegradation of Rhodamine B has been carried out. The research included the determination of optimum amount of ZnO, optimum concentration of H2O2, FeSO4, and pH. The effectiveness of the photodegradation on the optimum conditions was also determined. The results showed that the optimum conditions were 60 mg of ZnO, 6 mL of H2O2, 25 mg of FeSO4 and pH of 4. The highest percentage of photodegradation was 91,55% obtained in the system of UV/ZnO/Fenton with 5 hours irradiation. The result showed that increasing the irradiation time leads to the higher percentage of degradation of Rhodamine B. We found that the optimum irradiation time was 5 hours.
