ANALISIS SUN PROTECTION FACTOR (SPF) KRIM TABIR SURYA YANG DITAMBAHKAN EKSTRAK DAUN KACAPIRING (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis)
Abstract
ABSTRAK: Krim tabir surya mampu memproteksi kulit dari paparan UV karena bahan aktifnya mampu menyerap atau memantulkan sinar matahari. Penentuan nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF) pada krim yang ditambahkan ektrak daun kacapiring menjadi tujuan penelitian ini. Metode analisis SPF yang digunakan adalah spektrofotometri, sedangkan uji organoleptik menggunakan panelis 30 orang. Perlakuan diulang 4 kali terhadap semua parameter uji. Hasil analisis SPF tertinggi pada perlakuan 2% dibandingkan nilai terendah pada kontrol, yaitu (39,80 dan 6,26) atau 97,48% dan 84,02% memberikan perlindungan terhadap sinar UV. Hasil scanning menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian ekstrak mengandung senyawa aktif yang lebih kompleks dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan persentase suka lebih besar dibandingkan tidak suka pada semua atribut pengamatan. Hasil analisis senyawa aktif pada perlakuan 2% menunjukkan kadar tertinggi yaitu total fenol (245,65 mg GAE/ 100 g), kapasitas antioksidan (16,13 mg GAEAC/100 g), flavonoid (71,56 mg QE/100 g), tanin (560,65 mg TAE/100 g), dan klorofil total 190,69 mg/Kg. Penambahan ekstrak daun kacapiring bermanfaat menambah nilai SPF pada krim.
ABSTRACT: Sunscreen cream is able to protect the skin from exposure to UV rays, the active ingredients that are able to absorb, reflect light will provide more protection value for skin health. This study aims to determine the SPF value of sunscreen cream added with Gardenia leaf extract. The SPF analysis method used is spectrophotometry, while organoleptic tests was conducted using 30 panelists. The treatment was repeated 4 times on the all parameters. The SPF was significantly different (p<0.05), and 2% treatment is the highest content than the control, namely (39,80 and 6,26) or 97,48% and 84,02% providing protection against UV rays. The scanning results showed that the extract treatment contained more complex active compounds than the control. The organoleptic test show that the percentage of likes is greater than dislike on all observational attributes. The analysis of active compounds on 2% treatment showed the highest levels of total phenolic (245,65 mg GAE/100 g), antioxidant capacity (16,3 GAEAC/100 g), total flavonoids (71,56 mg QE/100 g), tannins (560,65 mg TAE/100g), and a total chlorophyll of 190,69 ppm. The addition of gardenia leaf extract is useful in increasing the SPF value of the cream.
