Abstract

Streptomyces sp was conducted from December 2010 - June 2011 at the Laboratory
of Microbiology, Biology Department, Math and Science Faculty, Udayana
University Bukit Jimbaran-Bali. Implementation stages of the research consisted of
isolation and testing of the antibiotic activity Streptomyces sp to inhibit growth
bacterial pathogens Erwinia sp as a cause of disease in plants fallen foul (Soft rot) of
Aloe barbadensis Mill.The results of this study have eight isolates of Streptomyces sp
with macroscopic and microscopic characters are varied. Furthermore, all isolates
were obtained and then tested against antibiotic activity to inhibit growth the bacteria
Erwinia sp. Test results obtained by Streptomyces sp that has the most effective in
inhibiting the ability of the bacteria Erwinia sp isolates are Streptomyces sp2
for (45%).
