Intercropping elephant grass cv. Odot and yellow sweet potato is an option in utilizing the remaining empty space between the elephant grass cv. Odot clumps. The research was carried out from April 2021 to September 2021 in Kalongan Village, East Ungaran Sub-district, Semarang (7o08’27”-7o15’72” LS and 110o40’88”-110o48’14” BT). A 2 x 4 factorial experiment with basic randomized block design with 3 replications were used throughout the experiment. The first factor was the spacing of elephant grass cv. Odot . J1 = 90 60 cm, and J2 = 90 45 cm. The second factor was the spacing of sweet potatoes T1 = 90 30 cm, T2 = 90 40 cm , T3 = 90 50 cm, and T4 = 90 60 cm. The parameters observed consisted of the production of fresh sweet potato stover, the production of elephant grass var. Odot, dry matter content of elephant grass var. Odot. The results showed first factor was the spacing of elephant grass cv. Odot had no significant effect on the production and dry matter content of elephant grass cv. Odot. The second treatment spacing of sweet potatoes did not significantly affect the production and dry matter content of elephant grass cv. Odot. The interaction between sweet potato spacing treatment and elephant grass cv. Odot spacing in the intercropping system did not significantly affect the production and dry matter content of elephant grass cv. Odot. the spacing of elephant grass cv. Odot did not suppress each other or had no significant effect on the production and dry matter content of sweet potato and elephant grass cv. Odot.
