The editorial board of Jurnal Matematika (JMAT) adopts a zero–tolerance stance toward plagiarism. This policy outlines the actions that will be taken when unattributed copying or excessive similarity is detected in manuscripts submitted to JMAT.

“Plagiarism is the appropriation of another author’s language, ideas, or expressions and presenting them as one’s own original work.”

• Originality – Papers must be the author’s own, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
• Citation of Direct Quotations – Any verbatim material must be clearly distinguished by:
  1. Indentation or block–quote formatting,
  2. Quotation marks, and
  3. A full citation of the source.
• Extended Use of Others’ Text or Graphics – If more than two–three sentences (or the visual equivalent) are borrowed, prior permission from the copyright holder (and, when possible, the original author(s)) is required, together with a proper source reference.

All submissions are run through Turnitin. A similarity index of up to 20?% is permissible (without bibliography). Anything exceeding this threshold will be sent back to the authors for revision and resubmission before further review.

When plagiarism is identified, the Editor–in–Chief evaluates the seriousness of the breach and applies the corresponding sanction listed below.

Level	Description	Consequence
Minor	A short phrase or paragraph is copied without proper attribution, but no substantive data or ideas are taken.	Formal warning; authors must revise the manuscript and add appropriate citations.
Intermediate	A notable passage, data set, or figure is duplicated without citation.	Immediate rejection of the manuscript; no further action required.
Severe	A large portion of the manuscript—including core results, equations, or methodology—is lifted from other works without permission.	Paper is rejected outright, and the authors are barred from submitting any future manuscripts to JMAT.

• Promptly report any suspected plagiarism to the Editor–in–Chief.
• Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript during the investigation.
• Do not use the plagiarised material for personal gain or share it outside the review process.
