PERAN ORGANISASI KERJASAMA ISLAM (OKI) DALAM MENANGANI KASUS DISKRIMINASI TERHADAP MUSLIM DI INDIA
Abstrak
Islamophobia has spread all over the world including to India. Various forms of discrimination ranging from violence in both verbal and physical forms to government policies have been experienced by the Muslim population who are a minority in India. Responding to this, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) made efforts to overcome cases of discrimination against Muslims in India. Based on the concepts of Islamophobia, international organization, and the power of international organization, it can be seen that the OIC has made several efforts based on its role and function as an international organization. OIC makes reports, seminars, conventions, etc. the results of which can be used as a reference for peaceful conflict resolution for Muslims in India. Using a qualitative descriptive method this research also looks at the strength of the OIC as an international organization in handling this case. However, India is not a member of the OIC which is one of the OIC's challenges in handling cases of discrimination against Muslims in India.
